All Endings

The Dark Queen of Mortholm has multiple endings. Depending on the dialogue you choose, you’ll see different stories. This guide provides detailed information about all the endings in the game.

There are only three official endings in the game:

• Normal Ending: Face the hero and ultimately fall in battle.
• Secret Ending: Refuse to attack from the very beginning.
• Too Powerful Ending: Defeat the hero every time, forcing her to give up permanently.

Normal Ending

In the Normal Ending, you battle the hero and are killed in the final confrontation. This path has three minor variations depending on your final choices:

Passive Defeat

• Fight until the end, then stop attacking and refuse to fight back.
• The hero will ask you three times if you wish to continue.
• If you refuse all three times, you will be immobilized and killed without further dialogue or transformation.
• Last-Moment Resistance
• Initially refuse to fight back twice.
• On the third prompt, choose to fight.
• The hero defeats you as in the standard Normal Ending.

False Resistance

• Refuse to fight twice.
• On the third prompt, say you will fight but take no action.
• The hero will call you a liar and leave instead of killing you.

Important Tip:

• If you refuse to attack in your True Form during the final fight, the hero will not stop attacking and you’ll die without extra dialogue. For a more emotional ending, stop attacking one round earlier—specifically, the round where the hero becomes distracted. Remove two of her hearts and then cease attacking.

Secret Ending

To unlock the Secret Ending:

• Never attack from the very start of the game.
• This pacifist route ends differently, rewarding you with a unique conclusion.

Too Powerful Ending

This ending occurs if you defeat the hero every time, surviving long enough for her to abandon the fight entirely.

How to Get Too Powerful Ending

1. Position yourself facing a wall.
2. Place your left foot on the 4th tile.
3. Use Skill 3 behind you and Skill 1 in front.
4. Press Skill 3 three times.
   • On the third attempt, the hero will be close enough for Skill 1 to connect.
   • After using Skill 1, she will step into range for the second hit of Skill 3.
5. Repeat this strategy on the second and third encounters after taking one of her hearts.

Eventually, the hero will comment on her progress. Respond with It doesn’t matter. If you defeat her again after this, she will never return, completing the Too Powerful Ending.
